SOLO BUILDER POWER-UPS / FIELD GUIDE

Your headline fits the idea.
Does it fit the page?

Character counts are a rough filter. “WWW” and “iii” are both three characters, but they use very different amounts of space in a proportional font. A headline that reads well in a document can become five short lines on a phone.

Start with three real constraints

Write down the content width, type size and line budget for a small, medium and large layout. A 375px viewport with 24px padding on each side gives you 327px of content, before any other layout constraints. Use your page's real numbers.

Keep the font and weight constant

Compare copy alternatives with the same font, weight, line height and letter spacing. Otherwise you are changing the design and the sentence at once. Wait for the intended font to load before reviewing the result.

Compare a batch, not a single winner

Paste a benefit-first option, a shorter version and a concrete outcome. Look at them together. Keep useful meaning when you shorten. A neat two-line headline is not automatically a better headline.

A small example

These are fictional alternatives, not conversion-tested copy:

  1. Turn your best AI work into reusable building blocks
  2. Save the good work. Skip the blank page.
  3. Your next launch starts here.

The shortest line is also the least specific. Decide what visitors need to understand before optimizing its shape.

Save the setup for the next page

If you create several landing pages, reuse the same width and typography constraints. Change the copy, compare again, then check the real page. This is where a reusable comparison can save repetitive setup.

What a fit check cannot tell you

It cannot validate your offer, predict conversions, verify accessibility or replace testing on actual devices. Responsive CSS, browser engines, web-font loading, text balancing and language rules can change the result.

  4. 23–30s: Click Export comparison. Open the HTML file to review the batch.

This is an operation guide, not a timed claim about your work. The demo is editable and uses the same editor as your real copy.
